That's not just any old Cadillac Station Wagon [Cadillac never built a station wagon] It's probably a Fleetwood 75 - unfinished, with a 500ci engine. They were sold unfinished, with an open frame behind the windshield to various coachbuilders who were required to fit and finish them before re-sale.
It looks like a dual purpose ambulance/hearse. They were built to be converted quickly for use as an ambulance most of the time and as a funeral coach as needed. Look somewhere outside the body to the rear of the windshield - there will be a coachbuilders marque. Inside the drivers door frame will be detailed conversion specifications.
Mark, thanks for the comment and thanks for reading my blog. I would like to have the old Caddy.
